<strong>的意義就是把文本中重要的內容給標記，所以一則敘述中，若是<strong>元素愈多，代表著這則敘述佔文章的地位愈重。範例 1 是一個遊戲的警告訊息，這個範例有趣之處在於，其中在描述「Do not take any of the diamonds」這個地方嵌進了 2 個<strong>，代表這段文字是「重要中的重要」，不過在視覺上是沒有什麼差別的啦。
